Skills guaranteed! Dusit Thani College students bagged medals from TICC 2023

Another competition with high standards and recognition for the expertise of all champions is Thailand’s International Culinary Cup or TICC, arranged by Informa and Thailand Chefs Association. This year’s TICC 2023, the 29th of this event, was held at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center during 23-26 August 2023.  

In this competitive stage, there were culinary and fruit carving competitions that Department of Culinary & Academic Competitions under Student Development Center, Dusit Thani College, an outstanding educational institution in hospitality education under Dusit International, sent 16 students from Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management Program to compete in. It was graciously proud that all of them bagged home awards. 

In individual competitions, coached by Mr. Apisit Jitprasong, students who won the competitions are as follows: 

  • Mr. Phisit Wongtheerachawalit, receiving a gold medal and the winner trophy from Modern Thai Cuisine Competition: Individual 
  • Mr. Gan Pinvanichkul, receiving a gold medal and the winner trophy from Duck Main Course Competition by BR Group: Individual 
  • Ms. Phattharaphon Phooltuayad, receiving a gold medal and the winner trophy from Free Style Main Course Cooking Contest: Individual 
  • Mr. Sittha Bualoylert, receiving a silver medal from Duck Main Course Competition by BR Group: Individual 
  • Mr. Pawarit Kumpluk, receiving a bronze medal from Duck Main Course Competition by BR Group: Individual 
  • Mr. Tanatat Dankuntud, receiving a bronze medal from Duck Main Course Competition by BR Group: Individual 
  • Ms. Ornsinee Prapassuwan, receiving a bronze medal from Free Style Main Course Cooking Contest: Individual

Moreover, in the trio competition program Fruit & Vegetable Carving Live: Team of 3, the college sent 3 teams, coached by Ajarn Pawana Chanmala and Ajarn Wimon Ounphet, to join and every team won awards as listed below: 

  • Team 1 – Mr. Nonthawat Phakdipol, Mr. Supakit Muanchamnan, and Ms. Natcha Saelao – receiving a bronze medal 
  • Team 2 – Mr. Wana Saengduangdee, Mr. Pasit Jongkit, and Mr. Natdanai Pruetthisukniran – receiving a bronze medal  
  • Team 3 – Ajarn Piyawit Tantiwet, Ms. Piyaporn Thaechawannaset, and Mr. Sittisup Manorat – receiving a bronze medal

These successes resonate the dedication of Dusit Thani College students and instructors as well as guarantee that Dusit Thani College students possess competencies in accordance to the expertise of their educational institution which specializes in hospitality businesses, culinary arts, and related fields.

Dusit Thani College is proud to announce that its students have once again placed among the top three at the ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest, organized by The Alliance Network in partnership with Relais & Châteaux — marking the second consecutive year the College has reached the podium in this international competition. In the 2026 edition, Ms. Purimprat Pradit, Ms. Isabella Marissa Stacy, and Mr. Pokin Puntu, first-year students from the International Hospitality Management and Professional Culinary Arts International programs — secured 2nd Runner-Up with Nai Mõng – Real Taste from the Countryside, a premium family dining concept rooted in the culinary traditions of Phatthalung, Southern Thailand. The project reimagines authentic Southern Thai cuisine through sustainably sourced, seasonal ingredients and a modern interpretation of local culinary heritage, inviting guests to experience sustainability not as a compromise but as part of an immersive, memorable dining journey. As 2nd Runner-Up, competing in their very first international competition, the team received a €200 voucher courtesy of Relais & Châteaux, an official certificate of achievement, and the opportunity to present their concept to the Relais & Châteaux CSR team. This year's result builds on a strong showing in 2025, when Dusit Thani College swept both 1st place (SHINRAI, a zero-waste culinary concept blending Japanese technique with Thai ingredients) and 2nd place (Re-leaf, a regenerative eco-wellness farm stay concept) in the contest's inaugural edition, triumphing over competitors from all 22 member countries of The Alliance Network at the time. The ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest challenges Hospitality and Culinary Arts students from Alliance member institutions — spanning more than 20 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa — to design innovative concepts that turn sustainability into an engaging, rewarding guest experience across its environmental, social, and economic dimensions, judged by a panel of industry professionals and sustainability experts. Two years running, students from Dusit Thani College's international program have proven that Thai culinary talent and sustainable thinking can consistently stand out on a global stage.
