Dusit Thani College welcomes guest speakers from Dusit International sharing knowledge from the mother company

09 October 2024

As implied by its name, Dusit Thani College is a private educational institution specialized in hospitality industry and a subsidiary of Dusit International, as known as Dusit Hotels and Resorts. It has been 31 years since Dusit Hotels and Resorts first expanded its business into the education sector, being the first Thai hotel with its own educational institution. The college, therefore, has been able to send students to Dusit properties as well as other alliance hotels for their internships so far.

Another perk of Dusit Thani College being a subsidiary of Dusit International is that the instructors and the students are offered opportunities to exchange and learn supreme theoretical as well as practical knowledge from Dusit Hotels and Resorts, guaranteed with 5-star standards. Throughout the year, there have been guest speakers from Dusit family visiting classes to share their knowhow and experience to the students, which is considered an outstanding privilege at Dusit Thani College.

Lately, Dusit Thani College has welcomed expert guest speakers from Dusit International who sacrificed their time to give exclusive lectures to the students. In the Managing Human Capital course for  fourth-year students in National Programs, the guest speakers covered the topic “How to be selected in job application” which clearly benefited these to-be graduates and jobseekers. The contents included competition in job application regardless of good profiles, how to create outstanding resumes, how to prepare for job interviews, and self-presentation.

“I am grateful that Dusit Thani College has this knowledge sharing project”, said Khun Nattapon Pubangdao, Manager – Talent Acquisition from Dusit International. “One of the issues for many freshly graduated students is they do not know how work in the real industry is supposed to be and how they can grow up in their paths. Therefore, I am so happy to have this opportunity that I can share my knowledge and experience to the students. As well, I can see clearly that Dusit Thani College has tried its best to serve quality personnel to the industry, not only for Dusit Hotels and Resorts but also for other organizations. The college is truly the manpower developer of the country.”

Meanwhile, Khun Chayarpar Phipatdusid, Assistant Manager HR Operation, expressed her feeling that “Every semester, I mostly come here to give lectures to students in Year 1 or 2. However, this is my first time giving this lecture to fourth-year students. I am very happy to be here today as they are going to use this knowledge in their very soon future. All students were very nice, enthusiastic, and engaging. They also asked lots of questions. This assures me that they are going to be great personnel of the hospitality industry.”

In the International Programs’ Food and Beverage Cost Control and Menu Design course, the topic of the lecture was “Keys to Successful Restaurant Management (Dusit Thani Business Case Study)”, covered by 3 guest speakers from Dusit International – Mr. Stephan Carric, Coporate Director of Food and Beverage, Khun Pachara Srivicharnkul, Corporate Senior Manager – F&B Strategy & Transformation, and Ms. Susana Mendoza Cardenas, Manager – Food and Beverage and Transformation Project. The main contents consisted of the insights shown below:

“In this lecture, we use the case study of Benjarong Bangkok – Baan Dusit Thani which includes competitive revenue management methods, elements of the restaurant such as creativity and marketing strategies, as well as Dos and Don’ts in restaurant management. The reason why we cover these topics is F&B management shouldn’t be focused only on food. There are more interconnected factors which need to be optimized in order to gain more customer satisfaction amidst the current day’s intense competition. Therefore, every case study we brought today was from the real situations. We hope they are able to take away the knowledge learned today and implement it in their real lives. Moreover, at the time we saw the students eager to learn from us, we, as the representatives of Dusit International, are totally willing to join in more classes in the future to share our comprehensive knowledge and insights.”

Dusit Thani College is dedicated to developing students with professionalism which makes them practically ready for work right after graduation. Through close relationship and collaboration with Dusit International, Dusit Thani College has possessed the exclusivity of student development methods that allow them to succeed in their lives academically and occupationally.

Dusit Thani College is proud to announce that its students have once again placed among the top three at the ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest, organized by The Alliance Network in partnership with Relais & Châteaux — marking the second consecutive year the College has reached the podium in this international competition. In the 2026 edition, Ms. Purimprat Pradit, Ms. Isabella Marissa Stacy, and Mr. Pokin Puntu, first-year students from the International Hospitality Management and Professional Culinary Arts International programs — secured 2nd Runner-Up with Nai Mõng – Real Taste from the Countryside, a premium family dining concept rooted in the culinary traditions of Phatthalung, Southern Thailand. The project reimagines authentic Southern Thai cuisine through sustainably sourced, seasonal ingredients and a modern interpretation of local culinary heritage, inviting guests to experience sustainability not as a compromise but as part of an immersive, memorable dining journey. As 2nd Runner-Up, competing in their very first international competition, the team received a €200 voucher courtesy of Relais & Châteaux, an official certificate of achievement, and the opportunity to present their concept to the Relais & Châteaux CSR team. This year's result builds on a strong showing in 2025, when Dusit Thani College swept both 1st place (SHINRAI, a zero-waste culinary concept blending Japanese technique with Thai ingredients) and 2nd place (Re-leaf, a regenerative eco-wellness farm stay concept) in the contest's inaugural edition, triumphing over competitors from all 22 member countries of The Alliance Network at the time. The ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest challenges Hospitality and Culinary Arts students from Alliance member institutions — spanning more than 20 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa — to design innovative concepts that turn sustainability into an engaging, rewarding guest experience across its environmental, social, and economic dimensions, judged by a panel of industry professionals and sustainability experts. Two years running, students from Dusit Thani College's international program have proven that Thai culinary talent and sustainable thinking can consistently stand out on a global stage.
