The Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, invited Dr. Atthawet Prougestaporn, Rector of Dusit Thani College, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Tourism Workforce Capacity Development. The ceremony was held on 15 July 2026 at the Grand Richmond Hotel in Nonthaburi Province and brought together more than 30 educational institutions and organisations involved in tourism workforce development from across Thailand.
The collaboration aims to establish joint approaches to developing tourism professionals in alignment with the evolving needs of the industry and labour market. It encompasses the assessment of workforce demand and essential skills, the development of long-term and short-term training programmes, and the exchange of academic knowledge, research, emerging technologies, and good practices. The partnership also promotes the shared use of resources and expertise, as well as the development of collaborative networks among educational institutions, tourism enterprises, local communities, and tourism-related organisations.
Dusit Thani College’s participation in this MOU reflects its role as an educational institution with expertise in tourism, hospitality, culinary arts, and the service industry. The College is committed to contributing its academic knowledge, research capabilities, professional expertise, and industry networks to the development of a highly skilled workforce, with the aim of enhancing service standards, strengthening competitiveness, and supporting the robust and sustainable growth of Thailand’s tourism industry.
