On 8 June 2026, Dusit Thani College, led by Dr. Phitchayaporn Sriboonruang, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, in her capacity as Project Leader, together with the working team from Dusit Thani College, namely Dr. Yaowaporn Lertkultanon, Dr. Sumeth Junsuthonpoj, and Arj. Visawat Roswarn implemented the project entitled “Curriculum Development Activity to Enhance the Competency of Professionals in the Tourism Industry,” as assigned by the Department of Tourism.
The project aims to promote the development of knowledge, skills, and competencies of tourism Professionals in alignment with the ASEAN Mutual Recognition Arrangement on Tourism Professionals, or ASEAN MRA on Tourism Professionals. This framework serves as an important mechanism for enhancing the standards of Thai tourism professionals in accordance with ASEAN-level professional competency standards.
As part of the project implementation, a meeting was organised to gather comments, recommendations, and expert opinions on the curriculum content and related course details for the second review, or the revised version. The meeting was held at Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok, with the participation of 35 experts from various institutions. The experts reviewed and provided recommendations on the developed curriculum and courses to ensure their appropriateness, relevance, modernity, and alignment with the current context of the tourism industry.
The meeting was honoured by the presence of Ms. Anuthida Sudsom, Senior Professional Level Tourism Development Officer, who served as the Chairperson of the meeting. The participants actively exchanged views and provided constructive recommendations for improving the curriculum to ensure that it is comprehensive, clear, and applicable as an effective guideline for the development of tourism professionals.
Following the meeting, the Dusit Thani College working team will incorporate the comments and recommendations into the revision of the curriculum and related courses. The revised curriculum will subsequently be developed into online learning materials on the DOT.Academy platform and compiled into a complete textbook. These materials will serve as a knowledge resource for the development of tourism personnel, as well as for individuals interested in participating in future training programs.
