Recently, Mr. John Lohr, Executive Director of External Affairs, Dusit Thani College, traveled to Pakistan to discuss with the College of Tourism and Hotel Management (COTHM), Pakistan’s leading tourism and hospitality institution, in developing tourism education in Pakistan.
The discussion focused on the enormous potential of Pakistan’s tourism industry, strategies for the growth of sustainable tourism, and the exchange of knowledge in hospitality education in order to develop skilled professionals into the industry. Pakistan has breathtakingly beautiful landscapes with rich cultural heritages and an expanding tourism sector. Therefore, the dialogue is essential for the development of Pakistan’s tourism industry.
In the future, Dusit Thani College and COTHM hope to establish an international collaboration between the two hospitality institutions from Southeast Asia and South Asia. It will pave the way for hospitality trainings and infrastructure that will lead to global recognition of Pakistan. By integrating best practices at the global level, embracing collaborations, and leveraging service standards, Pakistan can become a leading destination for global travelers.
