“Experience is a reward” Dusit Thani College sends students to a competition to seek for experience

STARTUP THAILAND LEAGUE 2023, recently held by National Innovation Agency (Public Organization), opens a room for students with technological and innovative ideas all over the country to blast their creativity and compete for awards. The objective of this event is to acknowledge to participating students and institutions the importance of developing the quality of education, especially in the aspects of innovation, technology, and idea development.

The competitions of STARTUP THAILAND LEAGUE 2023 were conducted in 4 regions nationwide. The Central and Eastern regional competitions were taken place on June 17-18, 2023, at KX The Knowledge Exchange Building. There were more than 150 teams from many higher educational institutions that joined the competition. Among the competitors were 5 teams from Business Administration & General Education Center, Dusit Thani College Bangkok which included Team Easter Egg, Team V-Plant, Team Minolly, Team Jakjai, and Team Sri Dusit. 

Although the students did not win awards in this competition, they gained various experiences instead, especially the entrepreneurship skills as well as competency development of instructors, students, and staff in higher education. The college, therefore, is dedicated to encouraging students to join all ranges of competitions throughtout the year because we believe that experience is an invaluable reward for all competitors.

Dusit Thani College students win an international award from The Alliance Network for the second consecutive year

Dusit Thani College is proud to announce that its students have once again placed among the top three at the ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest, organized by The Alliance Network in partnership with Relais & Châteaux — marking the second consecutive year the College has reached the podium in this international competition. In the 2026 edition, Ms. Purimprat Pradit, Ms. Isabella Marissa Stacy, and Mr. Pokin Puntu, first-year students from the International Hospitality Management and Professional Culinary Arts International programs — secured 2nd Runner-Up with Nai Mõng – Real Taste from the Countryside, a premium family dining concept rooted in the culinary traditions of Phatthalung, Southern Thailand. The project reimagines authentic Southern Thai cuisine through sustainably sourced, seasonal ingredients and a modern interpretation of local culinary heritage, inviting guests to experience sustainability not as a compromise but as part of an immersive, memorable dining journey. As 2nd Runner-Up, competing in their very first international competition, the team received a €200 voucher courtesy of Relais & Châteaux, an official certificate of achievement, and the opportunity to present their concept to the Relais & Châteaux CSR team. This year's result builds on a strong showing in 2025, when Dusit Thani College swept both 1st place (SHINRAI, a zero-waste culinary concept blending Japanese technique with Thai ingredients) and 2nd place (Re-leaf, a regenerative eco-wellness farm stay concept) in the contest's inaugural edition, triumphing over competitors from all 22 member countries of The Alliance Network at the time. The ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest challenges Hospitality and Culinary Arts students from Alliance member institutions — spanning more than 20 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa — to design innovative concepts that turn sustainability into an engaging, rewarding guest experience across its environmental, social, and economic dimensions, judged by a panel of industry professionals and sustainability experts. Two years running, students from Dusit Thani College's international program have proven that Thai culinary talent and sustainable thinking can consistently stand out on a global stage.

Dusit Thani College and the Department of Tourism Advance the Development of a CEFR-Aligned English Proficiency Test for Thai Tourism Professionals

Dusit Thani College has been commissioned by the Department of Tourism to develop a CEFR-aligned English proficiency assessment for tourism professionals in Thailand. The initiative aims to create a standardized national testing framework that reflects real-world communication needs within the tourism and hospitality industry. This project reinforces the College’s role in supporting workforce development and strengthening the global competitiveness of Thailand’s tourism sector.
