“The educational destination of Thai hospitality among CLMV target” Dusit Thani College welcomes TAT Education FAM Trip from Cambodia

19 April 2022

Thailand is one of the most famous countries in the world for its distinctive tourism components and ultimate services, especially among CLMV countries, which attracts those people to learn from the uniqueness. Therefore, studying hospitality in Thailand is considered a great choice for them to explore fruitful characters and delicacy under global standards that contribute to success in services industry without flying across the continent.

Dusit Thani College, a specialized educational institute in hospitality, has been chosen to be one of the educational destinations in TAT Education FAM Trip 2022, held by Tourism Authority of Thailand. The college, led by the rector Miss Frouke Gerbens, together with the directors and the students gave a warm welcome to the representatives of Cambodian educational institutes and agencies together with Tourism Authority of Thailand who visited the Bangkok campus. The guests participated in a DTC international programs’ introduction, a campus tour, and a “Mango Sticky Rice” workshop by the college’s instructor before having a luncheon at the college’s Mahogany Dining Room.

Ms. Yana Ros, President of American Intercon School Cambodia, gave some feedbacks after visiting the campus that “The college is nice. Not only studying in classes, but students can learn from the practice in the real situation of the workplace. They can learn more and get more experience that can be adapted in their work lives.”

Mr. Boromey Sreang, Director of Study Abroad at WEduAbroad – Study Abroad Consultancy, mentioned that “For Dusit Thani College, I think it is very specialized. I think the college is the top one here for hospitality major because it is under a famous hotel chain Dusit International and has a sister hotel where the students can do internship and learn from real life experience. There are also a lot of instructors, and people from professional experience to share knowledge. Especially, Dusit Thani College also has partnership with No.1 hospitality school and one of the world’s leading culinary schools like Le Cordon Bleu and EHL. I think it is a very good option for the students in Cambodia compared to the price to stay in Australia or Switzerland. This is much better with the same quality.”

Dusit Thani College has been honored to be chosen by Tourism Authority of Thailand as one of a few educational destinations in this trip, showing the prominence of long-known reputation, standardized high-quality, and international trust in Dusit Thani services. The college provides two outstanding bachelor programs for oversea students to study in Bangkok, the city of cultural diversity and uniqueness.

Dusit Thani College is proud to announce that its students have once again placed among the top three at the ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest, organized by The Alliance Network in partnership with Relais & Châteaux — marking the second consecutive year the College has reached the podium in this international competition. In the 2026 edition, Ms. Purimprat Pradit, Ms. Isabella Marissa Stacy, and Mr. Pokin Puntu, first-year students from the International Hospitality Management and Professional Culinary Arts International programs — secured 2nd Runner-Up with Nai Mõng – Real Taste from the Countryside, a premium family dining concept rooted in the culinary traditions of Phatthalung, Southern Thailand. The project reimagines authentic Southern Thai cuisine through sustainably sourced, seasonal ingredients and a modern interpretation of local culinary heritage, inviting guests to experience sustainability not as a compromise but as part of an immersive, memorable dining journey. As 2nd Runner-Up, competing in their very first international competition, the team received a €200 voucher courtesy of Relais & Châteaux, an official certificate of achievement, and the opportunity to present their concept to the Relais & Châteaux CSR team. This year's result builds on a strong showing in 2025, when Dusit Thani College swept both 1st place (SHINRAI, a zero-waste culinary concept blending Japanese technique with Thai ingredients) and 2nd place (Re-leaf, a regenerative eco-wellness farm stay concept) in the contest's inaugural edition, triumphing over competitors from all 22 member countries of The Alliance Network at the time. The ALLiance Sustainability in Hospitality Contest challenges Hospitality and Culinary Arts students from Alliance member institutions — spanning more than 20 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa — to design innovative concepts that turn sustainability into an engaging, rewarding guest experience across its environmental, social, and economic dimensions, judged by a panel of industry professionals and sustainability experts. Two years running, students from Dusit Thani College's international program have proven that Thai culinary talent and sustainable thinking can consistently stand out on a global stage.
