Dusit Thani College’s Hospitality Students Learn Inside a Live Hotel at the “Gracious Hospitality Field Trip 2026”
15 October 2026
Batch 26 students of the Dusit Thani College’s International Hospitality Management Program stayed overnight at Pathumwan Princess Hotel to experience the whole hotel business first-hand and prepare for their WIL placements
Dusit Thani College took first-year students of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Hospitality Management (International Program) out of the classroom and into a working hotel for the Gracious Hospitality Field Trip 2026. The program was held on 11–12 October at Pathumwan Princess Hotel, Bangkok. Batch 26 students stayed overnight at the hotel, so that they could understand the whole process of hotel business first-hand, from check-in and guest rooms to dining and check-out, and be ready for the Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program. They were accompanied by instructors.
The first morning began with a welcome and ice-breaking session. The students then heard from three DTC graduates in an Alumni Career Sharing and Panel Discussion. Ms. Thet Hnin Ko Ko of Batch 22, who now works as International Business Development Officer at Dusit Thani College, was joined by two Batch 17 graduates: Kanokwan Sitth, Product Marketing Section Chief at Aroma Group, and Warat Dittapongpitch, HR Manager at BKK French Touch and a former Agoda talent professional. They shared how their careers grew from hospitality studies into marketing, human resources and international business development, and what first-year students can do now to prepare for their own paths.
After the session, students toured the hotel’s rooms division, F&B outlets and facilities, and then attended a hotel introduction and an executive panel discussion. In the afternoon they took on the Passport Field Challenge, an experiential activity across Front Office, F&B, Housekeeping and Facilities, where they put what they had seen into practice. The students then checked in to their rooms and, after a welcome dinner at Kongju Korean Restaurant, stayed overnight at the hotel, experiencing the property from the guest’s side as well as the operator’s.
On the second day, the students heard a keynote on Dusit International and industry trends, then worked in groups to prepare and present their ideas. The program closed with the announcement of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) placements at partner hotels. Having spent a night in the hotel and seen how its departments work together, the students are now better prepared to start their WIL program.
Dusit Thani College’s International Hospitality Management Program prepares students for careers in hotels and across the wider hospitality industry. Field trips like this give them direct exposure to hotel operations and to professionals who have walked the same path.
