For an educational institution, it is important not only to play the role in educating and sharpening the learners, but also to allow the students to implement those knowledge and skills in their work. Therefore, one of the measures that an educational institution can use to evaluate its success is the successes of alumni in their work.
To showcase the fruits of the College’s success, Dusit Thani College, the one and only educational institution in Thailand which exclusively provides the knowledge of hospitality businesses and a subsidiary of Dusit International, has recently joined hands with the other counterpart institutes Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School and The Food School Bangkok to arrange Dusit Edu Fair & Alumni Market Village 2023 at Zone MUNx2, Seacon Square Shopping Center Srinakarin. This was to give the curriculum details of 3 institutes while opening the floor for skilled instructors and alumni from each institute to show their mastery through workshops, shows, and talks. The highlight of the event was 50 booths of Dusit Thani College alumni shops which attracted shoppers at Seacon Square Shopping Center to select a variety of products throughout the 3 days such as food, drinks, items, and services.
In the opening ceremony, Mr. Siradej Donavanik, Vice President of Dusit International’s Hotel Business Development, has honoredly given a speech stating that challenges for hospitality businesses, especially after the economic recovery from Covid-19, are not only the shortage of professional workers lost during the pandemic, but also the recruitment of manpower to prepare for a return of tourism. Moreover, the third heir of Dusit International mentioned about the enhanced corporate investment in an educational sector, for example, the recent opening of The Food School Bangkok which complies to the resolution 30 years ago of Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui, Founder of Dusit Thani College. She envisioned that Thai hospitality industry could grow sustainably when we created our own manpower. In the future, Dusit International has a plan to expand its educational businesses to other countries.
While Ms. Frouke Gerbens, Rector of Dusit Thani College, said that alumni played an important role in the success of educational institutions since the their reputation was built by the achievements of alumni. The alumni inspire other people while the institutions must be able to identify key qualifications of the industry and instill what the learners need to become inspiring successful alumni in the future.
In this event, there were the directors of the other 2 institutes under Dusit International – Ms. Suchada Sthapitanonda, Executive Director of Le Cordon Bleu Dusit Culinary School, and Ms. Irin Sriouranruj, Director of Admission and Marketing at The Food School Bangkok – joining and giving opening speeches as well, with Dr. Prote Sosothikul, Vice President of Operation Group for Seacon Development Plc., honoredly participating in the role of the sponsor for the venue.
