During this year’s summer session, aspiring students who intend to join the international programs had an opportunity to actively participate in several co-curricular activities under Dusit Thani College’s Pathway Program to enhance their classroom learning experience and socialize for cultural exchange.
Pathway Program is a curriculum designed to prepare students for university life through interactive, immersive, fun, and engaging student-centered learning while giving them a taste of the hospitality world.
In Intensive English classes, Filipino (Pinoy) Merienda and English Afternoon Tea workshops were held to expose Thai students to other cultures and foreign communities in DTC while developing the students’ confidence in using language as a medium of instruction for conversations and presentations.
In the Hospitality and Lifestyle course, enrolled students got to spend four sessions baking pop cakes, crepes, cookies, scones, chocolate mousse, donuts, and cheesecake. They also had a trip to the newly opened Dusit D2 Samyan and participated in Thai Coffee Fest 2023 in IMPACT, Muang Thong Thani. The students also experienced making hot and iced coffee at D’ Café for a day.
To culminate in the end of the program, the completion and recognition ceremony was held on the last day of the program. Students who satisfactorily completed academic requirements in Intensive English Level 3 and Intensive Math Level 2 were given certificates of completion. Those who obtained outstanding scores in Math were awarded certificates of recognition. Completers of Professional Culinary Arts were given a chef hat and a key card for completers of International Hospitality Management. These simple tokens symbolize their access to world-class hospitality and culinary education at DTC.
