Dusit Thani College’s International Hospitality Management and Pathway Program students, instructors, and staff visited the newly opened dusitD2 Samyan in Bangkok last June 30, 2023. The team was graciously welcomed by no less than the General Manager and the section managers of the hotel. GM Jean-Matthieu Beroujon shared about his inspirational journey in the hospitality industry, highlighting the value of building networks and fully understanding hotel operations. Khun Nok (Chalatip Nahuanmalin, Learning and Development Manager) talked about the Dusit brand and the story behind dusitD2 signifying the second generation of Dusit hotels. The Executive Housekeeper, Khun Uan (Sununta Puengpo)) introduced her team and explained the roles and challenges in the housekeeping section. Khun Bank (Aekawit Kaewpakdee), one of the duty front office duty managers highlighted the importance of learning a third language in providing excellent guest experience.
DTC students, instructors, and staff had the privilege of visiting the front and back of the house and going around the hotel facilities – rooms, pool area, bar, and restaurant that all boast a blend of modern design with Thai accents. Students were also able to participate in a workshop on mixing cocktails and mocktails with a professional bartender. After the tour of the hotel, the DTC team enjoyed a hearty lunch in the Dusit Gourmet Restaurant.
