International students from the Hospitality Management Program at Dusit Thani College made a significant impact at the 6th edition of the South East Asia Hotel Investors’ Summit (SEAHIS) in 2023. This prestigious event, held at the Westin Bangkok, Thailand, was a unique opportunity for our students to gain insights into the global hospitality industry and network with industry leaders.
SEAHIS is a high-level event that focuses on hotel real estate investors. It is known for its global reach, attracting attendees from numerous countries. The event is run “by owners for owners” and is designed to cater to the entire hotel industry universe.
Our students had the opportunity to attend various sessions featuring industry leaders and experts. They heard from speakers such as Thulci Aluwihare, Deputy Managing Director of CHEC Port City Colombo (Pvt) Ltd, Jurgen Ortelee, Managing Director, APAC, IDeaS Revenue Solutions, and Simon Allison, Chairman & CEO of HOFTEL, among others.
In a particularly exciting development, Simon David Lloyd, Dean – International Programs at Dusit Thani College, served as a moderator at the event. This provided our students with a unique opportunity to see their Dean facilitate discussions and share insights on a global stage.
Adding to the excitement, our students also had the chance to participate in public speaking at the event. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to share their perspectives, showcase their knowledge, and demonstrate their communication skills to global audience. Their contributions were well-received, and they represented Dusit Thani College with distinction.
This experience provided our students with a deeper understanding of the hospitality industry, particularly in the area of hotel real estate investment. It also offered them the chance to network with industry professionals, potentially opening doors for future internships and job opportunities.
We believe that this opportunity greatly enriched our students’ learning experience and prepared them for successful careers in the hospitality industry. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to sharing more of their experiences and learnings from the summit in the near future.
