—with their achievement of winning both First and Second Place in the Sustainability in Hospitality Contest 2025, hosted by The Alliance Network — an international organization renowned for its expertise in hospitality management, food service, and culinary arts education. The Alliance currently comprises members from 22 countries worldwide: Turkey, Canada, Thailand, Cyprus, France, Mexico, Finland, Chile, Cameroon, Singapore, Malta, the United States, Greece, Taiwan, Russia, Indonesia, Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador, Peru, Lebanon, and South Korea.
This contest was a battle of innovative business ideas aimed at building a more sustainable future for the hospitality industry. Students from all 22 member countries of the Alliance took part — which means that Dusit Thani College students triumphed over competitors from around the world. That’s seriously impressive!
And here are our two brilliant teams!
First Place – SHINRAI
By: Ms. Sirin Nantaprayoon, Ms. Runchana Thumthan, and Mr. Phichayut Saechiam, first-year student of Professional Culinary Arts International Program
SHINRAI is a culinary concept that exemplifies zero-waste gastronomy, combining Japanese technique with Thai ingredients to reduce food waste, support small-scale producers, and cut carbon emissions. The project creates a high-end, story-driven dining experience rooted in sustainability and regional identity.
Second Place – Re-leaf
By: Mr. Kullakola Kuramarohit, first-year student of Hospitality Management International Program and Mr. Nattawat Theeraloetphanit with Ms. Kanthima Mongkolyong, first-year student of Professional Culinary Arts International Program
Re-leaf proposes a regenerative wellness hospitality model set in Chiang Rai, centred on eco-luxury farm stays, local healing traditions, and circular systems. Designed to empower rural communities and create authentic, immersive travel experiences, the project reflects a bold rethinking of sustainable tourism in secondary cities.
And we mustn’t forget to thank Mr. Supakorn Zhang, a senior student from the Professional Culinary Arts International Program, who was a finalist in the Sustainable Hospitality Challenge 2024 (SHC) organized by Hotelschool The Hague in Dubai. He has been working closely behind the scenes to guide and mentor the junior teams — as well as Ajarn Papungkron Numprasit, their advisor.
Just the other day, Dr. Atthawet Prougestaporn, Rector of Dusit Thani College, along with Dr. Praweena Kasai, Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Ajarn Papangkorn, and Ajarn Woody – Wutthisak Simhong, joined in to extend their congratulations.
Let’s give a big round of applause to everyone involved!
