









Previously, Dusit Thani College had a collaboration with Pathumwan Institute of Technology in organizing “Opportunity Sharing Project to Give Marginal Students Vocational Skills” which brought students in the rural areas of Thailand’s Kanchanaburi province to Dusit Thani College Bangkok for practical trainings. This was to provide knowledge and skills to the students for their self- and career development. The results from that project were so positive that Dusit Thani College and Pathumwan Institute of Technology decided to continue it this year. Under the name “Opportunity Sharing Project to Give Rural Educational Institutions Vocational Skills Season 2”, the project commenced its opening ceremony at Srinakarin Hall, Dusit Thani College, as well as workshops at the college’s practical rooms during 7-8 March 2025.
In the opening ceremony, Privy Councilor General Paiboon Koomchaya gave his honor to preside at the event, while Rector of Pathumwan Institute of Technology Assoc. Prof. Satien Tanyasrirat, Rector of Dusit Thani College Dr. Atthawet Prougestaporn, Vice Rector of Dusit Thani College’s Student Affairs Dr. Praweena Kasai as well as executives and teachers from 4 attending schools witnessed this protocol. The schools participating in the workshops this year are as follows: Ban Huai Suea School, Thong Pha Phum Wittaya School, Srisawatpittayakom School, and Udomsittisuksa School.
On this occasion, Privy Councilor General Paiboon Koomchaya gave his speech that according to the Royal Policy by His Majesty the King on education, youth in all territories of Thailand must have their own careers and be able to work for their lives. This project, therefore, played an important role in leveraging the lives of students in rural areas by giving them learning opportunities equal to students in other areas. Children were precious resources of the society who helped move Thailand forward. He also thanked Dusit Thani College and Pathumwan Institute of Technology for the invaluable fundamental building policies which cover those who live in rural areas to reduce educational inequality in Thailand.
While Assoc. Prof. Satien Tanyasrirat, Rector of Pathumwan Institute of Technology, said that the project’s objective was to encourage career development by emphasizing on practical skills trainings which could generate earnings such as mixology, garland making, and cooking. “Learning procedures in this project were designed aligning to the needs of local communities and labor markets. This is to allow the attendants to implement the skills and knowledge learned here in their jobs. Pathumwan Institute of Technology believes education is a vital part in developing human and the society. This career development project will help provide opportunities to those who lack them, increasing their quality of life, and strengthening the community onward.”
Dr. Atthawet Prougestaporn, Rector of Dusit Thani College, followingly stated the vision of Dusit Thani College that the institution was established to build up quality personnel for the hospitality industry. The college aims at equipping students with necessary professional skills and knowledge for the field of hotel management, tourism, food and beverages, and hospitality management. The college dedicates to leveraging educational standards and encourages learning through practical experiences to make competitiveness in the students among international labor market following the resolution of Thanpuying Chanut Piyaoui, Founder of Dusit International.

“Opportunity Sharing Project to Give Rural Educational Institutions Vocational Skills Season 2” was held under the concept “East Meets West”. It built up experiences and skills which could turn into income such as making chipmunk-shaped garlands, cooking pasta with tom-yum sauce and fried chicken breast, hot ham cheese sandwich, Crêpes Suzette, and mixing mocktails. All activities are designed to allow the students to follow at ease and turned into a profession as the objective set.
