Dusit Thani College students have won the Winner Prize in “Alaska Seafood Young Chef Challenge 2021”, held by Alaska Seafood Marketing institute, ASMI. The organization is a public-private partnership between the State of Alaska and the Alaska seafood industry established to foster economic development of a renewable natural resource. In this challenge, competitors were provided with Alaskan seafood such as Alaska Sole, Alaska Pollock, Sockeye Salmon, Coho Salmon, Ikura, and Mentaiko to create 4 dishes of Thai Set Course under “Thai Twist” theme. There were 7 educational institutes participating in this program at Thai Food Heritage Building.
“Alaska Seafood Young Chef Challenge 2021” is an inspiring stage of culinary competition for higher education students, emphasizing on transcultural exchange by combining Alaskan resources with Thai cooking. It also promotes students’ skill development and food industry advancement.
