On 16 December 2025, the International Student Service organized a Cross-Cultural Trip for international students at Patom Organic Living Farm (Suan Sampran), Nakhon Pathom Province. The objective of the program was to promote intercultural learning and enhance students’ understanding of the Thai way of life, traditional wisdom, and the concept of sustainable development through experiential learning outside the classroom.
During the program, students participated in a variety of hands-on learning activities that reflect Thailand’s traditional organic farming practices and cultural heritage. These activities included learning the process of producing essential oils from natural ingredients, rice planting and traditional rice pounding to gain insight into the value and significance of rice as a staple food of Thai society, as well as fabric bag painting activities aimed at promoting resource efficiency and environmental awareness. In addition, students were introduced to the concept of sustainability through activities connected to traditional Thai lifestyles, which emphasize living in harmony with nature, the responsible use of resources, and the application of the Sufficiency Economy philosophy.
Following the agricultural and sustainability learning activities, the students visited Phra Pathom Chedi, one of Thailand’s most important historical and religious landmarks, to learn about Thai history, art, culture, and the role of Buddhism in Thai society. The program also included a visit to “Yoi Yoi” Thai Dessert Shop, a well-known local dessert shop in Nakhon Pathom founded by an alumnus of the institution and voted as a User Choice favorite. This activity provided students with an opportunity to learn about Thai food culture while supporting local entrepreneurs and strengthening alumni networks.
The Cross-Cultural Trip project represents a comprehensive intercultural learning experience, integrating aspects of lifestyle, culture, history, and sustainability. The program contributes to the holistic development of international students and broadens their global perspectives, providing valuable experiences that can be applied to their future academic and personal lives.
