One of the most prominent hotel investment conferences in the Asia-Pacific region is the Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific, commonly known as HICAP. Organized annually by Northstar Travel Group—a global leader in travel, hospitality, and investment conferences and exhibitions—HICAP aims to connect and exchange insights on investment trends among investors, business owners, developers, senior executives, and consultants from the hospitality and tourism industries worldwide.
As part of the conference, the Student Ambassadors program offers students from leading hospitality institutions the opportunity to participate. At the 35th HICAP, held from October 22–24, 2025, Dusit Thani College, a premier institution for service business education under the Dusit Thani Hotels and Resorts group, was honored to send student representatives to join the program at Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford.
This year’s Student Ambassadors cohort included 27 students from 7 institutions across the Asia-Pacific region. Dusit Thani College nominated Ms. Thet Hnin Ko Ko and Ms. Nicharas Rujiteerapat, both students in the International Program in Service Management, to represent the college. Alongside peers from other institutions, they participated in exclusive student-focused activities that allowed them to engage with industry leaders, exchange experiences, and build networks with HICAP attendees. They also had the opportunity to attend various sessions tailored to their interests.
Ms. Thet Hnin Ko Ko shared her reflections on the experience: “What stood out to me the most was learning about the investment, ownership, and brokerage sides of hospitality—and how all the different components of the industry connect. I particularly enjoyed the “Hotel Investment 101” session, which was very beginner-friendly and helped me understand investment fundamentals more clearly. There were 27 students in total from seven different universities, making it a great environment for both learning and peer networking.”
One of Dusit Thani College’s core missions is internationalization, instilling a global mindset in its students. Participation in international events, both domestically and abroad, such as HICAP, clearly reflects the college’s commitment to cultivating global perspectives and preparing students for international careers in hospitality.
