Dr. Attawet Pruksasthaporn, Rector of Dusit Thani College, stated that Dusit Thani College is a small institution focused on industry, with its origins in producing personnel for the service sector. Its philosophy is that industry and education must go hand in hand. At present, the college is expanding into the sciences to enhance students’ all-round capabilities, alongside its established expertise in service. Dusit Thani College believes that its specialization in food and practical skills can complement Chulalongkorn University’s academic and research strengths.
Meanwhile, Associate Professor Dr. Pannee Cheevinsirivat, Assistant to the President for Research at Chulalongkorn University, explained the core policy of the current President (Prof. Dr. Wilert Puriwat), which emphasizes holistic growth across all dimensions. This policy promotes integrated research across science, social sciences, and humanities. Chulalongkorn University recognizes Dusit Thani College’s internationally acknowledged expertise in food and hospitality, which will be highly beneficial in expanding the project to the global level.
The Prototype of Healthy Food Innovation “GIN-D” research project aims to develop innovation districts and incubate food entrepreneurs, creating healthy food innovations to promote sustainable urban living. It also seeks to assess the well-being of Chulalongkorn University personnel and the public in the Suanluang Square–Banthat Thong area. The collaboration among these institutions will encompass both research and academic services.
