On July 31, 2025, Dusit Thani College, Thailand’s leading hospitality higher education institution under the Dusit Thani Hotels Group, hosted a strategic seminar to advance the Thai Hospitality Education Alliance (THEA) initiative. The event was led by Mr. Simon David Lloyd, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality Management, and Ms. Panicha Panpat, Associate Dean, and welcomed representatives from three regional partner universities: Mae Fah Luang University (North), Prince of Songkla University (South), and Mahasarakham University (Northeast).
Originally launched in February 2025, THEA aims to foster collaboration among top-tier institutions across Thailand that specialize in hospitality and service education. By leveraging each institution’s regional expertise, the alliance seeks to elevate hospitality education both regionally and nationally.
The seminar, held at Dusit Thani College, featured a panel discussion titled “Trends in the Hospitality Industry by PATA, THA, and Dusit”. A highlight of the event was a special talk with Mr. Thienprasith Chaipattranan, President of the Thai Hotels Association. And to enrich the experience for visiting delegates, Dusit Thani College organized a site visit to Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel. Guests enjoyed panoramic views and refreshments at the Spire Rooftop Bar on the 39th floor, followed by a curated dining experience at Baan Dusit Thani restaurant.
Dusit Thani College hopes THEA will serve as a model for interregional academic collaboration, driving innovation and excellence in Thai hospitality education.
