On the 3rd of February 2025, Dusit Thani College, Thailand’s leading educational institution specialized in hospitality business under Dusit International, had a chance to showcase a brilliant business idea called “Euang” by a team of students, which develops a startup fresh flower bouquet business to reduce the world’s carbon.
On this occasion, Dusit Thani College’s instructors – Asst. Prof. Watit Intuluck, Program Lead of National Innovation Agency (NIA)’s business plan competition and Ajarn Phopdech Rattanataworn, Program Secretary – brought the students to the press conference of Startup Thailand League 2025 competition at Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai. This event began with a recap of the program achievements so far, followed by an opening of Startup Thailand League 2025 competition. Afterwards, Dr. Krithpaka Boonfueng, Executive Director of National Innovation Agency (Public Organization) or NIA, gave a speech introducing allied private organizations and 50 network educational institutions under this program. This featured the showcases of 9 successful startup business cases which were developed from Startup Thailand League Flag.
Among those teams was “Euang” by the idea of 2 Dusit Thani College’s Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management program students, the fourth year Mr. Patipath Kuldee and the second year Mr. Sirawit Phumiphamorn. Consulted by Asst. Prof. Supranee Vanarun, this business plan was turned into a real legal entity under the same name.
“Euang” positions itself as “a low-carbon fresh flower bouquet store”. It has achieved an award from the Startup Business Prototype Competition and legitimized itself as a legal entity which is currently operating. The distinctive characteristic of “Euang” is the bouquet design which prolongs freshness of the flowers up to 1-3 months, while dried flowers can be kept as long as 1 year. This long-lasting quality is able to allow the end users to display the products longer, extending the expiry date and reducing waste. In addition, the process to sell these flower bouquets through vending machines also reduces delivery transportation, leading to lower carbon dioxide emission.
Dusit Thani College aims to equip students with the skills and knowledge which could build on advanced techniques and be branched out from the lessons learned in the classroom. The two students from Culinary Arts and Kitchen Management program represent a good example of those who have both the talents of culinary arts and initiation for businesses related to the field, as well as the concept of sustainability that is currently trending in the world.
