Course Description
Financial accounting system of hotels and resorts is specific as they provide services days and nights. In addition, there are several services that yield profit (profit centers), e.g., room and services, food and beverage, meeting room and function services, etc. Financial accounting management system, therefore, needs to be efficient. Staffs needs to have basic skills on production cost calculation and service providing in accordance with volumes of service provided, as well as know how to divide types of accounting. This course offers lessons on calculation of break-even point that will identify the efficiency of sales, compared to expenses that occurred from Profit Center and Cost Center, and financial planning and effective financial accounting control system. In addition, students will learn to understand important principles of financial accounting system, which is a crucial foundation that leads to sustainable income management of a hotel business. Last but not least, head of financial department, executives or entrepreneurs can see the overall picture of financial business and accounting work more clearly.
