Dusit Thani College

Dusit Thani College was founded in 1993 and is the premier hospitality, culinary and tourism education provider in the Asian region and has more than 3000 students. Dusit Thani College is created and governed by Dusit International, a leader in hotel management and education and comprising of a unique international portfolio of distinctive hotels and resorts operating under four brands: Dusit Thani, dusitD2, Dusit Princess and Dusit Devarana. Currently Dusit International operates 29 hotels in 15 countries and will double its portfolio in the next 3 years. This ensures that Dusit Thani College is always on the cutting edge of developments in the hospitality industry which is reflected in the programs and the faculty. This also affords students of the College an impressive breadth of opportunities to access internships and management training programs across Dusit’s international portfolio of hotels and resorts.

Dusit Thani College works in close partnership with other top-end hospitality schools and offers two International programmes;

a 4 year Bachelor of Business Administration in Hotel and Resort Management (IHRM), which is certified by Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne and

a 4 year Bachelor of Business Administration in International Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management (ICRM) in collaboration with Le Cordon Bleu.

Both programmes offer students opportunities to gain invaluable insight in and experience of the world famous Thai-touch hospitality and service delivery that no other culture can compare with. The academic partnerships help the College to ensure that these programmes are also internationally a benchmark. DTC’s bachelor programmes are accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education in Thailand.

Dusit Thani College Study Abroad Programme (SAP)

DTC’s SAP is a personalised programme, which means it is tailored to the needs and ambitions of the individual student.

The student can opt for a series of modules and courses from either the IHRM or the ICRM programme or even both. DTC’s SAP study counselors will help you in shaping the programme for either one semester or one academic year. This will be done in dialogue with your school in order to facilitate the transfer of credits earned during your stay at DTC. The Study Abroad Programme can not only provide you with a valuable study experience but can also include opportunities to spend a semester completing an internship assignment at one of Dusit International’s hotels. This will equip you with practical experience in the operations of a hotel providing international class service with the unique Thai graciousness.

She will ask you to provide:

• Online application

• Support letter from your school or contact person

• Essay describing your interest and motivation

• Details of who will provide you with financial support during the program

 

Cost

• Tuition fee of € ~ 4,500 per semester

• Off-campus accommodation € ~ 500 – 1,300 per semester*

* room sharing with breakfast and laundry

• Estimated Personal Expenses € ~ 1,000* per semester

* food, transportation, book supplies, passport and visa etc. excluding travel to and from Bangkok

• Insurance Health Insurance is required for all international

 

Location

Dusit Thani College is situated in a quiet suburb in the South Eastern area of Bangkok, making it far enough away from the busy downtown area to provide an environment conducive to study, but still within easy reach, via local public transport. The college is only 25 minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport and provides easy access to the highway to Thailand’s Eastern coast, where you can relax or be entertained at the plentiful resorts and tourist attractions, such as Pattaya and Rayong. Nearby to the college is one of Bangkok’s largest shopping malls, providing a wealth of local and international restaurants and entertainment, as well as supermarkets stocking many of the home comforts that you may require. It is also very close to Rama IX Park, which is the city’s largest park, featuring beautiful pavilions, a large lake and expansive gardens, as well as plenty of spots for exercise. It’s the perfect place to unwind.

 

Accommodation and Lifestyle

Located conveniently nearby to the college are many accommodation options, depending on your budget and lifestyle. From the very start, you will be assigned a study counselor who will assist you with all aspects of your stay and studies. From finding the appropriate accommodation for you to your travel and visa arrangements, from academic guidance to knowledge of local facilities and attractions, they will always be on hand to provide support for you both on and off the college campus. Bangkok is synonymous with nightlife and entertainment. So if you do have energy left after your college work, why not enjoy your leisure time. The local neighborhood has many popular nightspots and there is a young and hip feel throughout the area. The college has over two thousand students living nearby and so it is very easy to enjoy the entertainment options together with them.
